Kingspan Solar, part of Kingspan Renewables Ltd, has launched its all-Ireland solar accreditation scheme.

The Kingspan Solar accredited installer scheme promises to train and accredit solar installers to deliver the highest standards of conduct, workmanship and customer service when installing any product from the Kingspan Solar range.

The range includes market-leading Thermomax vacuum tube collectors; Solamax, a PV module from Mitsubishi for solar electricity, and the newly launched Thermomax FN, high performance flat panel collectors.

According to Alan Hogan, Kingspan Solar’s all-Ireland sales directo, the scheme will certify that members "not only follow the company’s values, but will also ensure they are in line with industry best practice".

"This accreditation scheme appeals to installers who want to differentiate themselves from the competition, offer guaranteed workmanship, alongside the backing and support of the trusted Kingspan Solar brand," he said. "They receive expert training on solar installations, new product developments, customer service, and are kept abreast of government regulations, grant schemes and new sales leads".

To be accepted for the scheme, companies have to meet standards set out by the code of practice agreed by Kingspan Solar. They must also hold a fully compliant solar related FETAC qualification, proving that they have the technical competence to do the job to a high standard. "They will have to adhere to a strict code of practice at all times, abiding by health and safety guidelines and providing unrivalled customer service," he said.

The scheme is already proving popular, as accreditted installer Damien Mullens of highly-regarded renewables company Eco NRG (now Heat Doc) testifies: “We are absolutely delighted to have been accepted for membership of the Kingspan Solar accredited installer scheme. We believe that as members of this scheme, it clearly demonstrates our commitment to using the most effective solar products available in the world, providing excellent service to our customers and giving them complete peace of mind.”

According to Hogan, the scheme offers some attractive benefits to homeowners: "The Kingspan Solar product range comes with a five year warranty and when installed via an acredited installer, this warranty is doubled to ten years. The workmanship will also be guaranteed for a minimum of twelve months, allowing customers to be safe in the knowledge that they will receive both the service and end result they are looking for. It will also ensure that their Kingspan Solar product is operating at its maximum performance.
