Green jobs in US outstripped traditional sectors

The Guardian reports that, between 1998 and 2007, green industries in the US were producing new jobs at twice the rate of their traditional counterparts.

The figures are contained in a report produced by the Pew Charitable Trust. The report also noted that the growth came at time when there was little national government support for green energy - something that has been rectified with the $85m of green investment in Barack Obama's stimulus plan.
