New series of digital NZEB seminars kicks off this month

A new series of digital CPD seminars designed to provide a comprehensive approach to sustainable building design and construction in accordance with the requirements of the nearly zero energy building (NZEB) standard kicks off later this month.

The Energy Efficient Building Seminar (EEBS) starts on Thursday 25 February, with further sessions scheduled for the 2nd, 4th, 9th , 11th and 16th of March.

The event has been organised by Partel in partnership with a number of other leading specialists in sustainable building design and bespoke solutions — including KORE, Daikin, NorDan, Harmony Timber Solutions and Lunos — to proactively respond to recent changes in the building regulations. As a major supporter in upskilling the industry to deliver high performance buildings, Passive House Plus is serving as media partner for the events.

Bringing together experts from across the building industry, the seminars will help the industry to achieve NZEB standards for both new build and retrofit projects by showcasing the best in design and construction solutions to meet and exceed the recent changes to Parts L & F of the regulations.

Each live CPD session will last for 30 to 40 minutes and be followed by Q&A. The first session on 25 February will be run by Partel and focus on methods to improve air and wind-tightness and thermal bridging. Interested parties can register for free on the Eventbrite page.

The events are pitched at design and construction professionals ranging from architects and engineers to contractors and developers, and will offer valuable insights into the roles that insulation, airtightness, thermal breaks, windows, timber construction, renewable heating and mechanical ventilation can play in delivering NZEB in both residential and non-residential buildings.

Each seminar will showcase the best principles, practices and illustrative case studies demonstrating how a range of innovative products can be used to reduce the energy demand of buildings in a cost-effective manner.

Certificates of attendance are available on request, and CPD points are available for attendees too. Details of future seminars will be added to the Passive House Plus calendar. The full list of seminars is as follows.
