I have paid a hefty deposit to sweco for a heat pump central heating system in March. The salesman who sold it to me now works for another company and I cannot contact sweco.I know at least 2 other people in the same boat-deposits paid ,cheques cashed months ago and nothing received since. Is this a scam?why can I not contact Sweco's head office?I thought they were a reputable company????

Triona, unfortunatly I've found myself in a similar situation to you and over the past few days am resigned to the idea that I'm never going to get anywhere with this company. I've also paid a hefty deposit and am finding it very hard to even get in touch with this company. Word on the street is that they're on the way out.

There is no chance of getting your unit from sweco and its nearly less likly you will ever see your money back i sat into the creditiors meeting on friday last and the outlook is grim at best
The best thing you can do now is contact your reccomended installer as they can still get you the equipment and fit it most of the installers where there and on friday said they would supply and fit the units. In most cases this would incur a small bit more cost
If you have paid 10000 deposit its likely you would have had to pay another 10000 upon completion of install so original cost was 20000 now to get the job complete it might cost 22000 over all meaning you would have to pay 12000 on completion rather than 10000 (rough figures you understand) you have been hit for two thousand more then agreed but you will have your heatpump up and running this process will take about two weeks from time of order, if you go down this road.In time when the liquidiation is complete you might see some money back if your lucky it might even be that extra 2000 euro but that is the very best you can hope for
